Magnolia

The magnolia tree is blossoming, a true sign that Spring is here.













Tom and Maggie were busy at work the other day building our new raised bed frame. Maggie was lots of help. Tom drilled and sawed, while I directed. Tom might have liked a little less directing.



Maggie helped for a while then did a little digging in the flower beds.

Over the last two days, Gridley and I filled and planted the new raised bed. We planted beets, onions, mesclun mix, arugula, mustard greens, tatsoi, chives, sage, swiss chard and nasturtiams. We will add some basil and tomato plants when it gets warmer and whatver else we can squeeze in. The bed measures about 3 x 5' and is 16" deep.
