About Me
- gurbanyardeners
- gurbanyardening is an online journal of our family's adventures in organic gardening. I grew up gardening with my parents on a small farm in rural Maine until I was ten. During those formative years we planted, weeded, harvested and stored fruits and vegetables as part of our daily routine. As an adult with my own family now, I look back on this experience nostalgically and want to share as much of it as I can with my children. The trouble is that we don't live on thirty acres of land, we live on .12 acres and our house takes up most of it. 'tis the sacrifice we make to be close to restaurants, museums, the beach and, well..., other people! We love it here in Portland, so we are doing our best to garden in our two 5 x 5' raised beds and the community garden which we rent from the city.
